Our book today is a slim 1968 entry in line of English-language translations of Greek and Roman classics, Constance Carrier’s edition of the elegies of the ancient Roman poet Tibullus. The line included some very interesting entries, including Slackburn’s translation of Polybius and Willis Barnstone’s collection of Greek lyric poetry, plus a whole slew of translations by Rolfe Humphries, as well as Constance Carrier’s own translation of Propertius.
