Coming late to the party as I am, this is probably the last big of long-winded reflection on the latest little Farce That Launched a Thousand Snips: Daniel Karlin’s Commentary piece in the 1 August TLS, “Life Beyond Literature,” in which Karlin, Emeritus Professor of English Literature at the University of Brisol, recounts the story of how he went all of 2024 without doing any reading.
